Amsterdam, 11 February 2025 – On behalf of the Altera Retail Fund, real estate investor Altera has further strengthened its retail portfolio with the acquisition of the neighbourhood shopping centre Ronde Erf in Veenendaal. This acquisition sees Altera expand its presence in the daily-needs retail segment, adding a modern, future-proof shopping centre to its portfolio.
The shopping centre has a total surface area of approximately 2,500 sqm, divided into 7 retail units. The centre is compact and efficiently laid out, focusing entirely on daily groceries and services. Ample parking is available on municipal land around the shopping centre. These parking spaces are located at ground level and are publicly accessible, which contributes to the centre’s accessibility and convenience for visitors.
Ronde Erf is anchored by a Jumbo supermarket and is fully occupied, offering a variety of daily retail offerings and services, including a bakery, florist, pharmacy, hospitality venue and hairdresser. The shopping centre is spacious and modern, featuring an attractive plaza area that creates a pleasant environment for visitors and serves an important local function.
The property also aligns well with Altera’s sustainability ambitions. All retail units have an energy label of A or A++, meaning the shopping centre meets current and future energy performance requirements.
Jaap van der Bijl, CEO of Altera, said: “Ronde Erf is a strong neighbourhood shopping centre with a clear convenience profile. With this purchase, we increase our presence in daily-needs retail. The centre is an investment that fits well with our retail strategy, offering a stable direct return and being sustainable and less sensitive to e-commerce and economic fluctuations.”
