Purchase of renovated HEMA building on Kerkstraat in Hilversum

Back to overview

Amsterdam, 14 July 2025 – A consortium of private investors has acquired the prominent retail property at Kerkstraat 29-31 in Hilversum via a share transfer. The property is fully let on a long-term basis to the well-known retailers HEMA and Sport2000. It was sold by a consortium of investors advised by Crossroads Real Estate.

The property has a lettable floor area of approximately 4,084 m², spread over the ground floor, basement, and first and second floors. It is located in a prime location in the heart of Hilversum city centre. Sport2000 rents part of the ground floor and basement.

In 2023, HEMA commissioned a major renovation of the property. The store was completely modernised and refurbished in line with the latest HEMA concept. Hilversum was the first location in the Netherlands to feature this new store design. The renovation included a new store layout, a contemporary design, and an optimised customer experience. This investment in the future-proofing of the location was made by HEMA.

The buyer was advised commercially by BRIKKS and legally by Simmons & Simmons. The seller was represented by CBRE for commercial matters and by A&O Shearman for legal matters.
