Barzien started his career in the real estate sector at Cushman & Wakefield in 2014, after completing a bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Building and Planning and a master’s degree in Real Estate Management & Development at Eindhoven University of Technology, which he also partially completed at the University of Amsterdam at the chair of Real Estate Finance. His thesis ‘Fragmented Ownership in Shopping Centres’ won the NRW Thesis Award in 2016.
After working as an NRVT-registered valuer for several years, Barzien joined Cushman & Wakefield’s Capital Markets department in 2017. At this department, he specialised in the purchase and sale of retail properties for a variety of clients ranging from national and international institutional investors to local private investors. His most recent position at Cushman & Wakefield was Head of Retail Capital Markets Netherlands.
Barzien has established himself as a leading professional in recent years. He has a particular focus on retail property transactions and property investments.
